Hiring playbook for India

How to post a job online in India.

Follow a practical employer guide: prepare the role, publish a clear job listing, review applications and reach relevant professionals. You can understand the process before creating a Jobkar Workspace account.

The process

Seven steps, from setup to follow-up

The exact fields available may vary by role and account state, but the workflow below maps to the current Workspace screens.

01

Create your recruiter account

Select Create account and choose the recruiter role. Complete the sign-up flow shown by Jobkar, then sign in to access the hiring workspace.

02

Set up the company profile

Add the company name, business email, industry and head-office location. Add a description, website, social links and other available information to make the organisation record useful.

03

Define the opening

Go to Hiring and choose Post a job. Enter the title and description, select a category and subcategory, specify the required skills and experience, and set the job type and work mode.

04

Complete compensation and location

Provide the pay range, currency, pay period, city, state and country. Check the details for accuracy before submitting the listing.

05

Review applications

Open Applications and select a job. Use the status tabs to review applicants by stage, search their available contact details and view a resume when one is provided.

06

Discover open-to-work professionals

Use Open to Work to browse available profiles. Filter by job title, job type, country, experience and expected salary to narrow the list to more relevant candidates.

07

Coordinate and follow up

Use available chat and email actions to contact candidates. Recruiter proposals, messages, notifications and support tickets can help keep follow-up work organised.

Choosing a job posting platform

Compare free job posting sites in India by the full hiring workflow

When comparing free job posting sites in India, check listing limits, access to applications, candidate discovery, screening tools and the terms after any introductory offer. A low publishing cost only helps when the complete workflow suits your team.

Posting limits and visibility

Check how long a job remains active, how many openings can be live at once, which job details are required and whether the platform explains any visibility limits.

Applications and candidate search

Confirm that your team can review application records, view resumes when provided, discover relevant professionals and keep follow-up work organised.

Terms after the free offer

Check how long the introductory period lasts, which features are included, and how any future paid plan would be disclosed and activated.

Jobkar Workspace brings job publishing, candidate discovery and application management into one hiring workspace. Read the current free job posting in India details and membership terms before registering.

Practical guidance

Write a useful job post

Candidates need enough information to understand the opportunity and assess their fit. Clear, realistic descriptions can also make application review more focused.

Describe the outcome

Explain what the person will work on and the responsibilities attached to the role. Avoid vague descriptions that do not help candidates evaluate the opportunity.

Set relevant requirements

Distinguish essential skills from optional experience. Use job type, work mode and location accurately so candidates understand the practical arrangement.

Keep compensation clear

Provide an accurate salary range and pay period when available. If compensation is not disclosed, avoid adding a misleading figure or ambiguous promise.
